Flat, clean and screenprint-smooth, this canvas does almost nothing and does it completely. Against a solid field of saturated sunshine yellow, one voluminous white cloud hangs dead-centre, its underside shadowed in soft blue-grey. Below, a thin dark-brown strip of ground carries a tiny silhouetted figure mid-stride — a detail that transforms an image about weather into an image about distance. There is no horizon line so much as a suggestion of one, and that is enough to make the sky feel endless.
